The Etheridge Foundation

In a milestone partnership for the Etheridge Foundation, the ShineMaker Foundation has pledged a generous three-year commitment for a yearly grant match.

“We’re absolutely ecstatic about this collaboration,” said Anna Symonds, Executive Director of the Etheridge Foundation.

“ShineMaker is a wonderful ally of our mission, a full-hearted foundation whose members understand the power of plant medicines and share our commitment to advancing treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD).

They have helped so many important causes, and we are humbled and honored that they have joined with us in ours.”

ShineMaker and the Etheridge Foundation share an ethos rooted in love and human connection.

Brought together by compassion and the belief that music can change the world, the ShineMaker Foundation works to help materialize dreams of positive change into reality.

ShineMaker’s mission is to support and elevate people and organizations that explore innovative ideas and create solutions in education, social outreach, human rights, gender equality, animal welfare and environmental preservation.

For its 2023 grant match with the Etheridge Foundation, ShineMaker is partnering to fund a study at the University of British Columbia on psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for tapering of opioid medication in patients with chronic pain.

In addition, the two foundations have made a companion Root Relationship Contribution to the Indigenous Medicine Conservation (IMC) Fund towards projects that support crucial bicultural conservation work with traditional mushroom cultures.

“We are beyond excited about this partnership and grateful for the Etheridge Foundation’s commitment to supporting this groundbreaking work,” said Race Solimine, Executive Director of the ShineMaker Foundation.

ShineMaker will also partner with the Etheridge Foundation to match a grant in each calendar year for 2024 and 2025.

A soaring and heartfelt thank you to our friends, the ShineMaker Foundation, for joining us in our work.
